the email to try to get most of my tuition money back from this coding bootcamp
Subject: Request for refund - Urgent
Dear Mr. XXXXX,
I am writing to express my dissatisfaction with the XXXXX Education program and to request a refund of my tuition and the New Jersey Department of Labor’s money. I enrolled in this program with the expectation of receiving high-quality education and support, but unfortunately, my experience has been far from satisfactory.
I have several grievances and complaints that I would like to bring to your attention:
-
Late delivery of course materials: Course materials for the day’s class are often delivered mere hours before the lecture. This makes it difficult to prepare adequately, especially for part-time students who have other commitments, such as work and family responsibilities.
-
Incomplete response to requests: When I asked to have GitHub Co-Pilot turned off for lectures, the instructor, XXXXX, assured me that he had done so. However, it later became evident that another extension was still providing code autocompletion, suggesting code blocks as he typed. Despite my request, no action was taken to fully address this issue.
-
Errors in assignments: The assignments in the Replit platform contain conflicting instructions, indicating a lack of attention to detail and care in the creation of these materials.
-
Unreasonable expectations: During our Tuesday class, XXXXX made a statement that suggested that students should be coding for 20-40 hours per week outside of class hours. While I understand the importance of dedication and commitment, this expectation is unrealistic for part-time students who have other obligations. Additionally, I expected XXXXX to provide comprehensive materials and resources to facilitate this level of engagement, which has not been the case.
-
Disorganized lesson sequence: The sequence of lessons appears illogical and lacks a clear progression. Topics such as arrays and anonymous arrow functions were introduced before students had a solid understanding of basic programming concepts, making it difficult for students with less programming experience to follow along.
In light of these issues, I believe that I have not received the quality of education that I paid for. I kindly request a full refund of my tuition and the New Jersey Department of Labor’s money.
I have cc’d my New Jersey Department of Labor case worker, XXXXX, on this email. Also cc’d is the Continuing Education And Workforce Development Department at XXXXX Community College.
I would appreciate your prompt attention to this matter. I am available to discuss this further at your convenience.
Thank you for your time and consideration.
Sincerely,
Miguel
