We are excited that you are interested in becoming a plasma donor! It is important that donors
&10;are healthy and maintain a healthy lifestyle whilst donating plasma. Prior to donating plasma, it
&10;is important you take several steps to ensure you have a successful donation.
&10;Donors should ensure the following:
&10;• Drink 4-6 eight-ounce glasses of water, at least 2-4 hours prior to donating. Avoid
&10;caffeinated beverages such as coffee.
&10;• Avoid alcohol of any type for 24 hours before you donate.
&10;• Eat a meal that is rich in protein and rich in iron at least two hours prior to donation
&10;• Foods that are rich in protein: chicken breast, oats, beans, eggs, Greek yogurt,
&10;nuts, milk, cottage cheese
&10;• Foods that are rich in iron: shellfish, spinach, beef, turkey, broccoli
&10;• Get adequate sleep
